Failure analysis results

The results of an asset failure analysis are displayed as a list of records and a bar graph plotting the number of asset failures within an asset group across a certain time period.

Your analysis will include either all assets in the group or, if you specified a failure code on the previous page, only assets that have experienced that type of failure. The fields above the graph show the asset group, the date range, and, if specified, the failure type that you're analyzing. The UOM (unit of measure) field applies to roadway assets, whose failures are displayed per length.

The Failure Analysis graph shows the number of failures within a specified date range for individual assets and for the group as a whole. A bar graph compares the number of failures for both individual assets and all assets in the group. The y-axis shows the number of failures, and the x-axis represents the time period. The graph shows the data either per month or per year, depending on the date range. For example, if your range is only one year, then the graph would show failures for each month of the year, whereas if the range is for 20 years, it would show failures for each year.

To limit the bar graph to a single asset, you can select the asset in the grid below the graph. When you select a different asset in the grid, the graph automatically changes to show both asset and group failures for each time interval. For each asset in the grid, you can click the Failures link to view a list of the work orders in which the asset failure was recorded. From this list, you can then open individual work orders in the Work Order InfoViewer by clicking the appropriate Work Order link.
