Creating an asset inspection schedule

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > [Asst Module].
  2. On the correct asset type tab, under Asset Inspections, click Create Inspection Schedule.
  3. If the correct asset type isn't displayed, select it from the Asset list.
Depending on the asset type, one or more asset ID fields are displayed to the right of the Asset list.
  4. In the asset ID field or fields to the right of the Asset list, specify the identification code for the asset requiring inspection.
  5. In the Inspection Type field, specify the type of inspection you're scheduling for the asset.
  6. Under Schedule Information, select an option from the Reschedule By list.
If you select Completion Date, Infor Public Sector schedules inspections based on the completion date of the previously generated inspection. If you select this option, you must wait until each inspection is completed before you can schedule the next one. If you select Scheduled Date, Infor Public Sector schedules inspections based on the scheduled date of the previously generated inspection, regardless of whether the inspection is completed.
  7. Using the Schedule Type list and Interval field, specify the interval between inspections generated under this schedule.
The schedule type indicates whether Infor Public Sector will schedule the inspection activity on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. For example, if you specify Monthly as the schedule type and 3 as the interval, Infor Public Sector will schedule this inspection activity every three months until the Cycle To date. Note that Infor Public Sector uses the last day of the month as the scheduled date for monthly schedules.
  8. Specify a date in the Next Scheduled field.
This is the scheduled date for the first inspection that you generate based on this schedule. Note that the date you select will determine the scheduled dates of subsequent inspections. For example, let's say you set your schedule to generate inspections every two months between October 1 and April 30, that you selected Scheduled Date from the Reschedule By list, and that you specified December 15 as the Next Scheduled date. If you generate inspections for this schedule through a due date of April 30, Infor Public Sector will generate inspections with scheduled dates of December 15, February 15, and April 15 (this example assumes that you didn't select the End of Month check box and did select the Weekdays, Holidays, and Weekends check boxes).
  9. In the Cycle From and Cycle To fields, specify the date range during which you want to schedule inspections.
Infor Public Sector will schedule no inspections outside of this date range. If you leave the Cycle From field blank, Infor Public Sector uses today's date.
  10. Under Calculate Next Scheduled Based on Workday Options Below, select the check boxes to indicate the types of days on which Infor Public Sector can schedule inspections.

This list describes the results of selecting each check box:

    Weekdays
Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule inspections on weekdays if you choose Days as the schedule type.
    Holidays
Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule inspections on holidays if you choose Days as the schedule type.
    Weekends
Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule inspections on weekends if you choose Days as the schedule type.
    End of Month
Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule inspections on the last valid day of the month if you choose Months as the schedule type. What Infor Public Sector considers to be the last day of the month depends on the other scheduling options that are selected. For example, if the last day of the month is a Saturday and the schedule allows weekday but not weekend scheduling, Infor Public Sector will schedule inspections for the last Friday of that month.
Note: If you’re not ready to activate the schedule, you can select Schedule is On-Hold. Infor Public Sector will not generate inspections for schedules that have been placed on hold.
  11. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the schedule and shows an identification number and a message that the inspection schedule was completed successfully. You can click the Scheduled Inspection # link to view and edit the schedule in the Inspection Schedule InfoViewer.
