Alternative document type definitions for Micro Focus Content Manager

You can customize how document types are mapped for a Micro Focus Content Manager EDM provider.

Normally the Document Type field in Infor Public Sector corresponds to a document type field in the EDM system, and the document type names in Infor Public Sector must match the names used in the EDM system.

The document type field that is normally used in Micro Focus Content Manager is called Record Type, but you can optionally map the Infor Public Sector Document Type field to a different field. In addition, you can map the names of Infor Public Sector document types to different values in Micro Focus Content Manager, so the names don't always need to match.

To configure an alternative document type field, use the Alternative Type Definition Field node under the Micro Focus Content Manager node in the DocumentProviders configuration. The Document Type Field attribute on the Alternative Type Definition Field node specifies the field in Micro Focus Content Manager that will be used for the document type.

To map document type names, add a child Record Type Mappings node to the Alternative Type Definition Field node. The mappings are defined in child Record Type Mapping nodes, where the Document Type Reference Id attribute specifies a document type in Infor Public Sector and the Record Type specifies the corresponding type in Micro Focus Content Manager.

You can also use the Default Record Type attribute on the Alternative Type Definition Field node to specify a default to use for any document types that aren't mapped.
