For example, a mechanic may uncover an unexpected problem while performing routine maintenance on a vehicle. To help keep track of the work that must be done, you can create a new work order to repair the problem and link it to the original routine maintenance work order.

Work orders are linked in a parent/child relationship. In the database, the parent work order key is added to the WOLINKKEY column in the child work order record.
