Service contract line items

A line item is a single line in a service contract that defines an individual service that falls within the general parameters of the contract.

Line items may be contracted out to different contractors who charge set or variable rates. For example, you can have a line item for the installation, maintenance, and removal of signs for a construction zone. After you define service line items, you can associate them with specific contractors and define the rates charged for the service.

Each line item is identified by the section of the contract where it is included. You can also indicate a line item's sub-section or reference text, if any. Service contracts may include line item sub-sections and references that may provide more detail about the service or indicate a subordinate part of the service.
