Publishing request types

Publishing service request types means making them available in Open311. When the user opens a client app, the first step is usually to display a list of services, which are equivalent to request types in Infor Public Sector. The user then selects a service and enters a request.

To publish all request types in your database, set the Publish attribute of the Global Settings node to True. If you only want to publish selected request types, set the global Publish attribute to False and add the Service Request Types node to the Open311 configuration.

You can publish request types by category, by request type group, or individually. For example, if you publish a request type category, all request types that belong to that category will be available in Open311.

Request type categories are defined in the Service Request Types tree in the Service Request Type form. To assign a request type to a group, enter the group ID in the Request Type Group field when you add or edit the request type.

To publish request types, first add the appropriate children to the Service Request Types node: Categories to publish categories, Request Type Groups to publish groups, and Request Types to publish individual request types.

Each category, group, or request type is defined in a child node. For example, to publish a category you would add a child to the Categories node. In addition to specifying the category name and key, you can also override some of the global settings, such as overriding the standard response message.
