Stand-alone installation

If Open311 is installed on a separate server it will require its own copies of the Infor Public Sector dlls to interact with the database. It must also be kept in sync with Infor Public Sector. Finally, you must assign a Customer Service license to the Open311 server.

The installer handles the dlls automatically. If you don't enter an Infor Public Sector application path when installing Open311, the installer will assume you're installing on a separate server and include copies of the dlls. If you do enter an application path, the installer doesn't include the dlls, because Open311 can use the dlls in the Infor Public Sector application folder.

To synchronize Open311 with Infor Public Sector, follow these steps.

  1. Copy the Enhancement directory from Infor Public Sector and paste it into the Open311 directory, overwriting the existing Enhancement directory.
  2. Copy all of the .config files in the root Infor Public Sector application directory, except web.config, and paste them in the root Open311 directory.
  3. Copy all of the directories in the Infor Public Sector config directory and paste them into the Open311 config directory.
  4. It may be necessary to edit directory paths in the config files that you copied to point to the Open311 directory rather than the Infor Public Sector directory. This applies to the files in the config folder and in the root Open311 directory. In particular, you may need to edit the directory paths in the Open311 directory's copy of the Hansen8 configuration.

Remember to keep the Open311 site in sync if you later make changes to your Infor Public Sector application.

To assign a license to the Open311 server, use the Server License form in Infor Public Sector. See the online help or the Infor Public Sector System Administration Guide for instructions.
