Check device control

When Infor Public Sector attempts to load the Infor device control in Internet Explorer, a variety of factors, both environmental and security-related, can prevent the device control from loading.

  • Try resetting your browser. Select Tools > Internet options, then select the Advanced tab and click Reset.
  • If the client machine has .NET 4.5 installed, you must edit the Registry to enable the device control.

See Registry settings for .NET 4.5.

  • Clear the download cache. In the Device Configuration Utility, select Tools > Clear Assembly Cache to accomplish this. This ensures that a prior version of the .dlls is not cached and being used.
  • Turn Off CASPol. First, ensure that all IE instances are closed. In the Device Configuration Utility, select Tools > Disable CASPol. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the Infor Public Sector URL being used. In Cashiering Setup, browse to the corresponding cash register setup in the tree and select it. Click the Configure Register Hardware link to test if the device control loads. If this fixes the issue, then a CASPol entry must be run in the command line in this form.
    C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\caspol.exe -q -m -ag
1.5 -url http://MyServer/MyInforPS/* FullTrust -name IPSAccess
  • Ensure that the Infor Public Sector site is trusted in Internet Explorer.
  • In your Internet Explorer security settings, ensure that "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" is enabled.
