Service Object Manager

The Service Object Manager by SJJ Embedded Micro Solutions is a freeware application that uses the POS for .NET API to configure and discover device service objects on the client machine. The service objects for the MSR and SCANNER devices must be configured through this utility. The Epson service objects are configured through the Epson POS utility.

To open the Service Object Manager, run SOMgr.exe in the Support directory. Click Get POS Devices to show the POS devices that are installed in the registry.

You can also click the Get Logical Names button to view a list of logical names for your devices. Infor Public Sector expects these logical names:

  • Printer = "PRINTER"
  • Cash Drawer = "DRAWER"
  • Line/Pole Display = "DISPLAY"
  • MSR (Card Reader) = "MSR"
  • MICR (Check Reader) = "MICR"
  • Scanner = "SCANNER" (Logical name is only displayed when device is connected through USB)

If necessary, you can also specify logical names manually. Note that you must have full access to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Point Of Service\Configuration\Configuration.xml to make changes in the Service Object Manager.
