Client devices

This section provides setup instructions for some of the supported client devices. As noted above, setup files for some of these devices are provided with the device control. They can be found in the Support directory within the directory where you installed the device control.

The Support directory includes these files and subdirectories.

  • Gacutil.exe is a standard .NET extension that is used for installation of dlls. This may be required by the configuration tool to clear cached dlls. As upgrades occur, .NET will still cache and use the old dlls, which can be forcefully cleared using this extension.
  • SOMgr.exe is the Service Object Manager, a utility that you can use to manage your device service objects.
  • POS for .NET v.1.12 contains the setup files for Microsoft POS for .NET, which are required by the installer during the installation process.
  • The Manufacturer Service Objects folder contains three subfolders.
    1. The Cherry SPOS Keyboard folder contains two files. Cherry_OPOS_for_SPOS.exe is the installer for the Cherry MSR keyboard service objects. Cherry_Tools_58_EN.msi installs the Cherry tools, which you can use to configure your keyboard.
    2. The Epson folder contains the installer for the Epson OPOS ADK 2.50E (ADK250E.exe). Use this for the Epson TM-H6000II, TM-H6000III, DM-D110, and DM-D210. ADK250E.exe is a ZIP file, so you must first unzip the setup files and then install the OPOS ADK, which you will use to manage your Epson service objects. The ZIP also includes documentation from Epson, with more detailed information.
Note: OPOS ADK 2.50E is not compatible with the Epson TM-T88V. If you're using the TM-T88V, you must download the latest OPOS ADK from Epson. Infor QA tested the TM-T88V using OPOS ADK 2.70 E15. More recent versions are available, and should work as well.
    3. The HHP Scanner folder contains the installer for the Honeywell 3800g barcode scanner service objects (HandHeldWEPOSInstall.EXE). 3800G_UserGuide.pdf is the manual for the Honeywell 3800G, one of the two scanner models that are currently certified for use with Infor Public Sector.
Note: Although Infor Public Sector still supports the 3800g, Honeywell has retired this model. The other scanner that is certified for Infor Public Sector is the Hyperion 1300g, also from Honeywell. You can download the manual and service objects for the 1300g from Honeywell's website.
