Application server

Most of the cashiering hardware setup for Infor Public Sector is done on individual client machines that will be used as cash registers. In an Infor Public Sector on-premises environment, there is one additional setting that you must change on the application server.

By default, the Infor Public Sector site in IIS has its execute permissions set to "Scripts and Executables." For Infor Public Sector to interact with the POS devices, this must be changed to "Scripts only." This is required because Infor Public Sector uses a .NET winform on the client machine to interact with the POS devices. If the execute permissions are set to "Scripts and Executables," then the server will attempt to run the winform, resulting in an error.

To change the execute permissions in IIS, double-click the Handler Mappings icon for the Infor Public Sector site, then select "Edit Feature Permissions" in the Actions pane. In the Edit Feature Permissions dialog box, ensure that the Read and Script check boxes are selected and the Execute check box is cleared.
