Subdividing parcels

As your agency redraws parcel boundaries, you can consolidate or subdivide your parcel records to reflect these changes. When you subdivide a parcel, Infor Public Sector creates two or more child parcel records from the parent parcel. The child parcel records are linked to the parent, which is expired in most cases. You also have the option of leaving the parent in effect.

  1. Select Resources > Property > Lookup Parcels.
  2. Look up the parcels that you want to subdivide.
  3. Select the parcels you want to subdivide in the Parcel Lookup Results grid.
  4. Click Action and select Consolidate/Subdivide Parcels.
Infor Public Sector shows the Consolidate/Subdivide Parcels dialog box. The Parents grid in the upper left corner shows the parent parcels, meaning the existing parcels that will be consolidated or subdivided. The Children grid to the right of the Parents grid is used to define the new parcels to be created.
  5. In the Children grid, specify the new parcels that will be created by the subdivision.
When you click Add above the grid, Infor Public Sector shows the Define Parcels dialog box. You can define either a single parcel or multiple parcels that will be numbered sequentially.
To define a single parcel, select A Single Parcel from the Add list and specify the parcel ID in the Parcel ID field. Then select the check boxes for the information you want to copy from the parent and click Next. On the next screen, specify the parcel information as you would when defining a new parcel in the Contact and Property Browser and click Finish.
If you select Multiple Parcels from the Add list, five fields are displayed. In the Parcel Prefix field, specify the first part of the IDs that Infor Public Sector will assign to the new parcels. In the Suffix From and To fields, specify the range of numbers that Infor Public Sector will use as the last part of the parcel IDs. Note that the range of numbers you specify here also determines how many parcels you're creating. Specify the number of digits in the parcel suffixes in the Width field. In the Fill Character field, specify the character, such as 0, that Infor Public Sector will add before the suffix if it doesn't take up the whole width.
For example, if you specify 9999 as the parcel prefix, a range of suffixes from 1 to 20, a suffix width of 2, and 0 as the fill character, Infor Public Sector will add parcels 999901 to 999920.
  6. Select the parcel you're subdividing in the Parents grid.
You can select multiple records in the Parents grid or the Children grid, but not both. Because you must select multiple children to subdivide a parcel, you can only subdivide one parcel at a time.
  7. Select the parcels that will be created from the parent in the Children grid.
  8. In the list below the Parents grid, select the option that indicates what you want to do with the parent parcel record after it is subdivided.
Link and Expire is selected by default, meaning Infor Public Sector will link the children to the parent and expire the parent. If you select Link Only, Infor Public Sector will link the children to the parent without expiring it. If you select Link, Expire and Version, Infor Public Sector will link the children to the parent and create a new version of the parent in addition to expiring it.
  9. Click Link Selected Parcels.
