Creating a new version of an address

You can create a new version of an existing address, such as when a building is torn down and a new building is put up in its place. Although the two buildings share an address they are unique structures, and you may want to maintain the historical information associated with the old building. When you create a new version of an address, the most recent address is designated as the current one. Older address versions can’t be made current again, and only current addresses can be edited.

Note: The Action button is displayed only if you're working with the most current version of the address. The Current check box will also be selected.
  1. Load the address record you want into the Address InfoViewer.
You access the Address InfoViewer by clicking the Street Name or Address link for the address on any form that shows the link, or by right-clicking the address's node in the Contact and Property Browser and selecting Open Address.
  2. Click Action and select Create New Version.
A message is displayed indicating that creating a new version of the address will cause the active address to be expired.
  3. Click Yes.
A message is displayed indicating that a new version of the address has been created and increases the address’s version number by one. If the old address doesn't already have an expiration date, Infor Public Sector assigns one using today’s date. The Current check box remains selected for the new address and is cleared for the old address. All associated information from the old address, such as parcels, contacts, and attachments, is transferred to the new address. You can edit this information as required. Note that older address versions can’t be edited or made current again.
