Defining a license group

License groups are sets of license requirements that can be added to an application. You can define a license group under the Activities and Fees node or under a milestone node. When you define a license group under Activities and Fees, you can associate it with the milestone at which Infor Public Sector adds the group. When you define a license group under milestone, Infor Public Sector automatically associates the group with that milestone. Under both nodes, you can associate the license group with a formula that Infor Public Sector will use to calculate whether to add the group at the indicated milestone.

  1. Select Use Permits > Setup > Application Workflow.
  2. In the Application Types tree, browse to the license groups for the correct application type or milestone.
  3. Click the Required Licenses node.
  4. Click Add above the grid.
  5. Type a description of the license group in the Description field.
    The description must be unique within the application type but can be reused in other application types.
  6. Enter any other information about the license group.
    You can leave the Add On field empty to indicate that the license group will not be added automatically during the permitting process but can be added manually. You can enter a milestone in the Add On field to indicate that the license group will always be added at that milestone. If you enter a milestone, you can also use the Add On Condition field to specify a formula that calculates whether to add the license group at the milestone indicated in the Add On field. If the Add On Condition is satisfied or if no Add On Condition is entered, Infor Public Sector adds the licensing requirement when the application enters the specified milestone.
  7. Click Add above the grid at the bottom of the dialog box.
  8. Specify the type of license that will make up this license group in the License Type field.
  9. Specify the group number of this license in the Group Number field.
    Infor Public Sector uses the group number to define how each license type will be required. When Infor Public Sector checks if an application has the required licenses, it looks for one license from each group number.
  10. Click Save.
    Infor Public Sector adds the license type to the license group and shows it in the grid.
  11. When you're finished adding license types to this license group, click Save.
    Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box, saves the license group to the application type, and shows it in the grid. If you specified a milestone, the license group is also displayed in the grid for the Required Licenses node under that milestone.
