Defining a hearing type

Hearing types are the kinds of hearings that your agency may hold for an application. You can define a hearing type under the Activities and Fees node or under a milestone node. When you define a hearing type under Activities and Fees, you can associate it with the milestone at which Infor Public Sector adds the hearing. When you define a hearing type under a milestone node, Infor Public Sector automatically associates the hearing type with that milestone. Under both nodes, you can associate the hearing type with a formula that calculates whether to add the hearing.

  1. Select Planning > Setup > Application Workflow.
  2. In the Application Types tree, browse to the hearings for the correct application type or milestone.
  3. Click the Hearings node.
  4. Click Add above the grid.
  5. In the Hearing Type field, type a name for the type of hearing.
The name must be unique within the application type but can be reused in other application types.
  6. In the Name/Description field, type a descriptive name that will help to identify this hearing type.
  7. Select the Show in Portal check box if you want hearings of this type to be shown in Infor Rhythm for Civics.
Rhythm for Civics is a cloud-based web portal for Infor Public Sector. You can also select the Is Public check box to show hearings to members of the public. You can enter an alternative description of the hearing type to be displayed in the portal in the Portal Description field. See the Infor Rhythm for Civics Administration Guide for more information.
  8. Under Attendees, add the attendees who will be routinely involved with hearings that are based on this template.
  9. Under Recurrence, define the schedule for hearings that are based on this template.
  10. Enter any other information about the hearing type.
You can leave the Add On Milestone field empty to indicate that the hearing will not be added automatically during the planning process but can be added manually. You can enter a milestone in the Add On Milestone field to indicate that the hearing will always be added at that milestone. If you enter a milestone, you can also use the Add On Condition Formula field to specify a formula that calculates whether the hearing is added at the milestone indicated in the Add On Milestone field. You can use the Maximum Load / Day field to indicate the maximum number of hearings based on this template that can be scheduled in one day. You can also type any standard operating procedures for this hearing type.
  11. Click Save.
