Estimating a meter reading

During a review, you may need to estimate readings for some meters, such as meters with no readings or with unusually high readings. When you estimate readings, Infor Public Sector uses the rules defined in Usage Estimate Setup to calculate the estimated values. For example, an estimate might be based on a meter's usage from the previous month, or an average of its usage over the last three months.

To estimate readings for meters listed on the Exceptions or Acceptable tab, select the desired meters and click the Estimate button in the top right corner of the grid.

Estimating a reading may also have been defined as the default action for a meter's exception type. In that case you can estimate a reading for an individual meter by clicking the Estimate link in the Default Action column.

If the meter position has a current reading, Infor Public Sector will use that reading's date for the estimate. If there is no current reading you'll be prompted to specify a date.
