Changing the ruler units

You can show two different units of measure in the Roadway InfoViewer, one for the top ruler and one for the bottom ruler. By editing your roadway preferences, you can select the units that you want to show. For example, if you change the top ruler unit from miles to kilometers for a roadway running from 0 to 5 miles, the ending measurement in the top ruler changes to 8.0467 kilometers. Roadway preferences are stored per user, so your changes will not affect other users.

The unit of measure that you select for the top ruler is also used in other Roadway forms, such as the Roadway Lookup.

  1. Load the roadway you want into the Roadway InfoViewer.
  2. Click Settings Settings button.
  3. Select a unit of measure from the Top Ruler Units list.
You can select either a unit of measure, such as Miles or Kilometers, or a distance marker type defined by your agency. Note that only one of the two ruler units can be a distance marker type.
  4. Select a unit of measure from the Bottom Ruler Units list.
  5. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector closes the Roadway InfoViewer Preferences dialog box and changes the ruler units and values accordingly. If you changed one of the units to a distance marker type, the ruler shows the label Distance Markers.
