Password settings

To define password settings, select System > Security > Password Settings, or enter form code SPS.

This table shows the various settings that you can specify for users' passwords:

Setting Description
Require Mixed Case Requires a password to have at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter.
Require Numeric Character Requires a password to have at least one numeric character.
Require Special Character Requires a password to have at least one non-alphanumeric character. A special character is any character other than a-z, A-Z, or 0-9.
Minimum Length Minimum number of characters required for a password.
History Length Number of old passwords in a user’s history that Infor Public Sector checks when determining the uniqueness of a new password. For example, if you enter 5, a user’s last five passwords are checked. Enter 0 if you don’t want to check the user’s password history, allowing any password to be reused. Enter -1 to check all the passwords in the user’s history, requiring a unique password with each change.
Expiration Days Number of days until a password expires. Enter 0 for passwords that never expire.
Login Attempts Number of consecutive unsuccessful login attempts before a user is locked out of Infor Public Sector. If a user is locked out, an administrator can change the user's password or unlock the user's account. Enter 0 if you don’t want users locked out.

See Unlocking a user's account.
