Creating a case for a service request

If the request type allows it, you can create a case from a service request. You can also use Lookup Service Requests or the Associations tab of the Service Request InfoViewer to associate an existing case with a service request.

  1. Open a service request in the Service Request InfoViewer.
  2. Click the Action button and select Open a New Code Enforcement Case.
Infor Public Sector opens the Create Code Enforcement Case Type dialog box.
  3. Select the type of case you want to create.
If the case type you want is displayed in the Recently Used Case Types grid, you can select it. You can also specify a case type in the Case Type field. If the request type has a default case type, that case type is automatically displayed in the Case Type field.
  4. Click Next.
Infor Public Sector starts a case and copies the location and contact information from the service request.
  5. Specify the case information.
  6. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the case and links it with the request. When you open the service request in the Service Request InfoViewer, Infor Public Sector will show the case in the Associated Cases grid on the Associations tab. Also note that the current service request will also be displayed in the case record.
