Approval types

Approval types determine which employees have the authority to approve different types of work orders.

Approvals are based on the estimated costs of a work order. Each approval type consists of a series of approval levels with set dollar amounts, specifying the maximum amounts employees can approve. For example, maintenance crew chiefs might be authorized to approve work orders up to $500, but larger amounts would require a supervisor's approval. You assign employees to approval levels using Access Control, where Infor Public Sector automatically creates an access item for each level you define.

After you define approval types, you can assign them to activities and milestones in Activity Workflow. If a work order's activity or its current milestone requires an approval, Infor Public Sector checks the work order's estimated cost. An employee with the appropriate access must approve the work order before it can proceed.
