Setting the active map layer

The active layer in the map is the one whose associated database records you're currently working with. For example, to work with address records from the map, you would activate the address layer. Only one layer can be active at a time.

Some layers can't be activated, because they only show GIS information and aren't connected to any database records.

  1. Click Search & Options.
  2. Click the Layers tab.
  3. Click the option button to the left of the layer that you want to make active. Only layers that are connected to database records show option buttons.
  4. To close the Search & Options box, click the title bar.
