child parcel
A parcel that has been created by dividing an existing parcel
into smaller ones or by joining multiple parcels into a larger one. When you
divide a parcel, the original parcel becomes the "parent" and the smaller
parcels become the "children." Likewise, when you join multiple parcels, they
become "parents" and the new, larger parcel becomes the "child." This hierarchy
assists you in managing information associated with your parcels as they
undergo legal or geographic changes.
