Recording resource usage based on estimated tasks

You can track the use and costs of your agency's resources by selecting from a list of resource usage rates defined for an activity's tasks during setup. These resource usage rates store predefined information, such as a labor usage rate that indicates the designation of the work crew and the estimated number of labor hours required to complete a particular task. When recording resource usage for that task, you can apply that predefined information by assigning the estimated labor usage rate to the work order. You can specify the pay type for any resource usage, such as regular pay or overtime for an employee, and the date range for the charges.

  1. Load the work order you want into the Work Order InfoViewer.
  2. Select the Summary tab.
  3. In the Quick Links panel, click Add Resource Usage.
If the Resource Usage tab is displayed, you can also add resource usage on this tab.
  4. Ensure that Estimates is selected in the Usage Type list.
  5. In the Tasks list, select the task you want to record resource usage for.
Infor Public Sector shows a list of the estimated usage rates defined for the task.
  6. Specify the type of payment for the selected resources in the Pay Type field.
  7. Specify the time period for the work in the Charge From and To fields.
  8. Click Add All or select the standard rates you want to record and click Add Selected.
Infor Public Sector adds the resource usage information and shows it in the Resource Usage grid.
  9. When you're finished recording resource usage, click Close to close the Add Work Order Usage dialog box.
If the Resource Usage tab isn't already present, Infor Public Sector adds this tab to the InfoViewer. The usage information is displayed in the grid on this tab.
