Work orders
A work order is a record of maintenance or repair work on an asset in your
inventory, such as a work order to tune up a vehicle.
When an asset requires work, you create a work order specifying the asset and the activity to be performed. Work orders can be created in several different ways.
- You can use Create Work Order to add a work order manually.
- You can create work orders as part of a group project.
- Work orders for routine maintenance can be generated automatically from maintenance schedules.
- You can create work orders while working with assets and other types of records in Infor Public Sector. For example, you can use the Service Request InfoViewer to create a work order for a service request.
- You can create work orders from a map in Infor Public Sector GIS.
Depending on the activity, the work order specifies a set of tasks to perform and milestones to be completed. While completing a work order you can also record the resources used, such as labor, parts, and tools, and the resource costs.
