Assigning licenses
Under either licensing model you use the User License form to assign licenses to users, but the purpose of these assignments is different in each case.
The named user model is slightly simpler in this regard. The User License form shows a list of the modules the agency has purchased. When you click a module in the list, Infor Public Sector shows a grid that you can use to assign licenses to users. Above the grid are three fields showing the total number of licenses purchased for the selected module, the number of licenses that have been assigned, and the number that are still free.
Assigning licenses in the named user model is simpler because the number of licenses available equals the number of licenses that have been purchased. Under the concurrent user model, there is no effective limit to the number of licenses you can assign in User License. The licenses aren't taken up when they're assigned, but when users sign in. The assignments in User License serve only to associate users with licenses so their usage can be tracked. On login, the user is added to the concurrent user count for each assigned license.
For example, an agency that has purchased 20 concurrent licenses for CRM is not limited to 20 users in the User License form. Instead, the agency is given an arbitrarily large number of licenses so that one may be assigned to each user who will have access. These are virtual licenses at this point, because they merely indicate which employees might use the module. They aren't counted against the total number of licenses the agency has purchased until users sign in.
