Creating a notification template

Creating a notification template is a two-step process. First you must specify an ID and description of the template, and any input parameters that you want to use. Then, after saving the template, you can specify the contents of the notification that is to be sent.

Notification templates are not static. Input parameters represent interfaces that can be used to include selected properties in your templates. For example, you might want to include the contact's name and address. You can also use input parameters to represent all or part of the text of the message itself, rather than hard-coding it in the template.

  1. Select Resources > Notification Templates.
  2. Click Add above the Notification Templates grid.
  3. Specify this information:

Infor Public Sector closes the Add Notification Template form and shows the new template in the Notification Templates grid.
  5. In the grid, click the template that you just created to edit it.
  6. On the Notification Contents tab, in the Subject field, specify the subject line for notifications generated from this template.
  7. Specify the body of the notification in the large text field on the Notification Contents tab.
For notifications that are sent as HTML, this field includes a lightweight HTML editor so you can create messages without knowing how to write HTML.
The properties of the template's input parameters are listed in a tree to the right of the text field. You can browse through the tree and select the properties that you want to include in the notification.
  8. Click Save.
