Adding a child parcel

You can use the Parcel InfoViewer to indicate any child parcels that were created out of the current parcel. A child parcel is a newer parcel that has been created out of the current parcel, such as a large parcel that was created by joining the current parcel with one or more other parcels or a smaller parcel that was created by subdividing the current parcel. You can also add a parent parcel. Setting up parent and child relationships among your parcels helps your agency track parcels as they change their boundaries through subdivision or joining.

Note: A child parcel will have a higher version number than its parent to indicate that the child is a later version of the parcel.
  1. Load the parcel record you want into the Parcel InfoViewer, or begin to create a parcel record.
  2. On the Hierarchy tab, under Children, click Add above the grid.
  3. In the Parcel ID field, specify the identification code for the parcel that is a child of the current parcel.
  4. Specify effective and expire dates if you want to limit the association to specific dates.
  5. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector links the parcels, defining the parcel that you specified as the child of the current parcel. The current parcel is now considered to be a parent of the child parcel and is displayed in the child parcel's Parents grid.
