Creating a new version of a property
You can create a new version of an existing property. For example, if an apartment complex is torn down and a new one is built in its place, the new structure would have the same property ID. Although they share a property ID, the complexes are two unique structures. The previous structure has significant historical information associated with it that must be maintained. The new structure must have new permits and other government documentation associated with it. When you create a new version of a property, the most recent property is designated as the current one. Older property versions can’t be made current again, and only current properties can be edited.
Note: The button is displayed only
if you're working with the most current version of the property. The Current check box will also be
selected.
