Creating a derived keyword
- Select System > Agency Personalization > Keyword Manager.
- Under Keywords, right-click the Derived Keywords node, or one of its category nodes, and select Add Derived Keyword.

Specify this information:
- Derived Keyword Name
- Specify a name for the derived keyword.
- Category
- If you aren't adding the derived keyword to an existing category, specify a new category name.
- Data Type
- Select the data type for the derived keyword's output.
- Base Keyword
- Specify the base keyword that you're using to create the derived
keyword.Note: In some cases, you can use a common rule to create a derived keyword without a base keyword. For example, the
DateTime TodaysDate( )
rule can be used to return the current date. No base keyword is required. - For Import
- Select this check box if the derived keyword is to be used for an import template.
- Rules
- In the grid, specify each rule that you want to apply to create
the derived keyword.
To add a rule, first click Add above the grid. The Select Rule dialog box is displayed. To locate available rules, enter search criteria in the fields under Lookup Options and click Search.
The search results in the Rule Lookup Results grid include rules that match the data type of the selected keyword, or that take the base keyword as a parameter. For example, if the base keyword is KW_Hansen.Billing_Bill_BillKey, then the search results include rules that take
billKey
as a parameter.When you select a rule in the Rule Lookup Results grid, the rule's parameters are displayed in the Selected Rule Parameters grid. Provide the parameter values and click Done.
- When you're finished adding rules, click Save.
