Adding an inspection type to a resource plan
You can use the Resource Plan InfoViewer to specify which inspections must be performed to complete a resource plan. Infor Public Sector also uses inspections to determine which resources are required for the plan and to estimate the plan’s cost.

Load the plan you want into the Resource Plan InfoViewer.
You access the Resource Plan InfoViewer by clicking the Plan link for the resource plan on any form that shows the link.
- On the Inspections tab, click Add above the grid.
- Specify the asset type for which you’re adding inspections in the Asset Type field.
- Specify the identification code for the inspection type in the Inspection Type field.

Save.
Infor Public Sector adds the inspection to the resource plan and shows it on the Inspections tab.

Specify the amount of work planned for the inspection.
The planned units are the amount of work expected to be produced during the resource plan based on the inspection type, such as the number of cars inspected for service repairs. The unit of work is based on the unit of work defined for the inspection type. You can specify the planned units in one of two ways:To specify the number of units planned for the entire length of the plan:
- Enable editing in the grid and select the inspection type.
- Type the number of units in the Planned Units field.
- Click Save. Infor Public Sector shows a message that the existing monthly values for the plan will be recalculated.
- Click Yes. Infor Public Sector shows the number of units planned for the entire length of the plan. Infor Public Sector also calculates the number of units planned for each month of the plan by dividing the number of planned units by the number of months in the plan. You can view and edit this information by clicking the inspection type’s Planned Units link. If you have any resources on the Resources tab, Infor Public Sector will update the number of resources required for the plan based on the usage estimates for the inspection type.
To specify the number of units planned for each month of the plan:- Click the Planned Units link for the inspection type.
- Enable editing in the grid and select each month that the units will be planned for.
- Type the number of units for the month in the Planned Units field.
- Click Save. Infor Public Sector updates the number of planned units for the length of the plan.
- When you’re finished specifying the number of units planned for individual months, click Close. Infor Public Sector updates the inspection type’s planned units. If you have any resources on the Resources tab, Infor Public Sector will update the number of resources required for the plan based on the usage estimates for the inspection type.
Infor Public Sector updates the estimated cost for the plan based on the inspection type’s estimated resource costs and shows it in the Planned Cost field.
