Resource Planning
When your agency is planning a large work project, you can create a resource plan to estimate the funds and resources required to perform certain types of work over an extended period of time. A resource plan consists of the work order activities, inspection types, and resources required for the work. For example, you might have a resource plan for the installation of water mains to support new community developments for the coming year. The plan can specify the labor and equipment required for the project and the maintenance activities that must be performed on the mains. Infor Public Sector will estimate the plan’s costs based on cost of the specified resources, activities, and inspection types. You can also create plans for smaller projects, such as the maintenance of your agency’s vehicles over an 18-month period.
You can create plan groups for related resource plans. For example, a large community development may require separate plans for different resources, such as one plan for a water system, one plan for a sewer system, one plan for streets, and so on. You can create a plan group so you can view the resources, work, and estimated cost for all of the plans in a single place. Infor Public Sector also provides tools for tracking your resource plans. You can use lookups to search for resource plans and groups and InfoViewers to update them.
To begin the work required by the resource plan, you must specify the plan’s identification code in the work orders and asset inspections that perform the activities and inspection types defined in the plan.
