Merging roadways

You can make a new roadway by merging two existing roadways. Each of the original roadway records is expired.

Distances on the new, merged roadway will be measured from the start of the first roadway you specify. So if you merge Roadway 1, which is 35 miles long, with Roadway 2, which is 12 miles long, mile 0 of the original Roadway 2 becomes mile 35 of the new roadway. Thus, a sign that was position 5 miles from the start of the original Roadway 2 is now 40 miles from the start of the merged roadway.

Select Asset Management > Assets > Roadway.
On the Roadway tab, under Configuration, click Merge Roadway Tool.
Specify this information:

Merge Roadway

Specify the ID of the first of the two roadways being merged.

With Roadway

Specify the ID of the second roadway.

New Roadway

Specify an ID for the new roadway.

Maintain Roadway History

Select if you want to maintain a record of the roadway structure before the change. Three records are added to the RWTOOLHIST (RoadwayToolHistory) table: one for each of the roadways merged, and one for the new roadway. Each record includes the starting and ending measurements of the roadway, the date the roadways were merged, and a description of the change. You can then view a history of each roadway and the affected roadway data in the Roadway InfoViewer.
Click Finish.

Infor Public Sector expires the two original roadways and merges them into a single new roadway record. The start of the first of the two original roadways becomes the start of the new merged roadway, and all measurements along the second of the original roadways are adjusted by the length of the first roadway.

Infor Public Sector also adds roadway history records for all affected work orders, inspections, and service requests. Because these records represent historical events rather than roadway characteristics, their measurements aren’t adjusted. You can view roadway history data on the Roadway History tab of the appropriate InfoViewer.
