Reference points
In the Roadway InfoViewer you can designate an attached feature as a reference point for other features. When you edit other features, a field called Reference Point indicates how far and in which direction the feature is from the reference point. The reference point is also displayed on the ruler. Reference points can be a great help in locating points along a roadway when using mile markers would be impractical. For example, if your agency has a work order to install a call box, it may be easier to tell the workers to install the call box one-quarter mile north of a specific culvert than to tell them to install it at distance marker 294.
