Defining a roadway distance marker type

Distance marker types function like categories to help you organize related distance markers. After you create a distance marker type, you must add specific distance markers to that type. For example, you could create a distance marker type called Miles and then create two markers called PostedMile and AdjustMile. Marker types are displayed as nodes in the Distance Marker Types tree, but the specific markers are displayed only in grids when you click marker type nodes.

See Defining a roadway distance marker.

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > Roadway.
  2. On the Roadway tab, under Configuration, click Roadway Setup.
  3. In the Roadway Types tree, right-click the Distance Marker node and click Create Distance Marker Type.
  4. Type a name for the new distance marker type in the Distance Marker Code field.
  5. Select the unit of measure for the distance marker type from the Unit of Measure list.
The unit of measure you specify is for your information only. It will not affect other data or calculations in Infor Public Sector Roadway.
  6. Type a description of the distance marker in the Description field
  7. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector adds the new distance marker type to the Roadway Types tree and the Distance Marker Types grid. You can now define distance markers for this marker type.
