Stock information

Stock information records represent particular parts as they are stocked in particular stock areas and locations.

When you add a part to a stock location, or to a stock area without location, Infor Public Sector creates a stock information record. You can access stock information records from either the Locations tab of the Stock Area InfoViewer or the Stock tab of the Part InfoViewer.

Based on your inventory transactions, each stock information record tracks the number of parts on hand, the number of parts that are available, and the number of parts that are reserved. Infor Public Sector also shows the date and quantity of the last receipt transaction and the last issue transaction, and the quantity of parts on order.

Stock information records can also be used to set up automatic requisitions. Automatic requisitions are based on the stock quantity, which is the sum of the quantity of parts on hand and the quantity on order.

To automatically requisition parts, select the Allow Purchase Requests and Automatic Requisition check boxes. Then specify the stock quantity below which a requisition will be generated in the Reorder Level field, and specify the quantity to order in the Reorder Quantity field. Infor Public Sector will automatically create a requisition for the reorder quantity when the stock quantity falls below the reorder level.
