Adding a part to a stock location

These steps explain how to add a part to a location that allows multiple parts. Some locations only allow a single type of part. If the stock area does not have any locations defined, you can stock a part without a location.

Note: You can also use the Part InfoViewer to change a part's location.
  1. Load the stock area you want into the Stock Area InfoViewer.
  2. On the Information tab, ensure that the Multiple Parts Allowed Per Location and Locations Required for Stock Area check boxes are checked.
  3. On the Locations tab, create or edit a stock location.
  4. In the Location Stock Information dialog box, under Parts in this location, click Add above the grid.
  5. Specify the identification code for the part in the Part # field.
  6. In the Unit of Issue field, specify the type of units the stock is issued in, such as in boxes or on pallets.
  7. In the Qty per Unit of Issue field, speciify the number of parts in each unit of stock, such as 20 parts per box.
  8. Under Order Information and Associated Information, specify any other information about the part.
Note: The ordering information that you specify applies to all parts of this type in the stock area, regardless of location. If you update the ordering information for the part in one location, it will be updated for all other locations within the same stock area.
  9. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the part in the Parts in this location grid.
  10. When you're finished adding parts, click Save.
Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the stock location in the Locations in this Stock Area grid.
