Defining locations within a stock area

You can divide a stock area into stock locations to help you find parts more easily and to track the use of parts more precisely. These instructions indicate how you can store multiple types of parts in a single stock location. If you only store one type of part per location, ensure that the Multiple Parts Allowed Per Location check box on the Information tab is clear.

  1. Load the stock area you want into the Stock Area InfoViewer.
  2. On the Information tab, ensure that the Multiple Parts Allowed Per Location and Locations Required for Stock Area check boxes are selected.
  3. On the Locations tab, under Locations in this Stock Area, click Add above the grid.
  4. In the Location field, type an identification code for the stock location according to your agency's naming scheme.
  5. Provide any other information about the stock location.
    You can also specify the parts that are stored at the stock location.
  6. Click Save.
    Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the stock location in the Locations in this Stock Area grid.
