Opening a case for an incident

If your agency has purchased Infor Public Sector Code Enforcement, you can open any cases that an incident requires from the Incident InfoViewer. For example, if a hazardous condition at a particular address has caused some kind of accident, you might need to open a case to abate that condition. Each case that you open from the Incident InfoViewer will be associated with the selected incident record.

  1. Load the incident you want into the Incident InfoViewer.
    You can open an incident in the InfoViewer by clicking the correct Incident # link on any form that shows the link, such as Lookup Incidents.
  2. Click the Action button at the top of the InfoViewer and select Open a Case.
    The Start Case form opens. Infor Public Sector copies the location information from the incident into the new case.
  3. Enter the case information
    Infor Public Sector links the new case to the incident and shows it in the Associated Cases grid on the Associations tab.
  4. When you're finished working with the incident, click Close.
