Defining a project application type
Application types are the kinds of applications that your agency handles. Defining an application type is the first step in setting up the permitting process for that application type.
- Select Project > Setup > Application Workflow.
-
In the Application Types tree, browse to the node in which you want to define an application type.
This can be the Application Types root node or an "Application Category" node.
- Right-click the node and select Create Application Type.
- Type a name for the new application type in the Application Type field.
- Type a description of the application type in the Description field.
-
If your agency uses Infor Rhythm for Civics, specify settings for the application type in the
Rhythm for Civics site.
Rhythm for Civics is a cloud-based web portal for Infor Public Sector. You can specify these settings:
- Select the Show in Portal check box if you want applications of this type to be shown in Rhythm for Civics.
- Select the Is Public check box to show applications of this type to members of the public.
- The Allow Submission check box indicates whether applications of this type can be submitted through the portal.
- In the Portal Description field you can specify an alternative description of the application type to be displayed in Rhythm for Civics.
- Use the Portal Instructions field to provide instructions for submitting applications of this type. The instructions will be displayed for users in the portal site.
See the Infor Rhythm for Civics Administration Guide for more information.
-
If your agency uses Dynamic Portal, select an option from the Display Dynamic Portal User list.
This option indicates which type of users can select this application type when initiating applications in Dynamic Portal.
-
Enter any other information about the application type.
You can calculate an expiration date for an application type using the Application Expiration Date Formula field by either entering the name of an existing formula or by writing a new formula. You can define any standard operating procedures for this application type. You can also select the Auto Fill Required Licenses check box to automatically add the required licenses for all contacts associated with an application, and select the Use Job Estimation check box to use figures from job estimates for the declared or calculated valuations on applications of this type. If you select the Allow Supervisor Override check box, supervisors with the correct permissions in Access Control can advance applications to the next milestone even if they haven't met all the status checks for the current one. You can enter a description that will be shown to Dynamic Portal users in the Dynamic Portal Description field.
-
Click Save.
Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the new application type in the Application Types tree.
-
Define the necessary supporting information for the application type, such as reviews, fees, and milestones.
You can define milestones for the application type, and define the license groups, define the condition types, define the inspection types, define the review types, and add the fee types that the application type will use. To associate this information with a specific milestone, you can define this information under the milestone node instead. You will also want to associate violation groups with inspections and associate violation groups with reviews.
- When you're finished defining application types, click Close and set up access control for each type.
