Activation rules
Activation rules define the deadline for a planning condition to be removed or met to prevent Infor Public Sector from halting the application process of any application that has the condition. For example, you could create a planning condition that requires all storm water and grading work to be completed before construction can begin. Such a planning condition could use an activation rule to prevent any building applications, such as SFD, MFD, or School, from advancing from their initial ApplicationAdded milestone until all storm water and grading permits are finalized.
You can define four kinds of activation rules: Formula, Milestone, Date, and Count.
Formula activation rules indicate that the planning condition will halt the application process if the condition is not removed or met when an activation rule formula returns False. For example, you could define a rule that halts a PublicStructure application if its recorded square footage is greater than 6000. Note that Infor Public Sector runs an application's Formula activation rules when the application attempts to advance in its application process and when a member of your agency runs a status check on the application.
Milestone activation rules indicate that the planning condition will halt the application process of an application if that condition is not removed or met by the specified milestone. For example, you could define a rule that halts a commercial application at its Pre-Processed milestone. The milestone should be a milestone from any of the applications that will be affected by the planning condition, including the application the planning condition will be added to or any of the application's children that might inherit the planning condition.
Date activation rules indicate that the planning condition will halt the application process if the condition is not removed or met on or before the specified date. When members of your agency use this activation rule with an application, they will specify the date to use. Infor Public Sector automatically carries this date over to any child applications that might then inherit the planning condition.
Count activation rules indicate that the planning condition will halt the application process if the condition is not removed or met when Infor Public Sector runs a Count formula at the indicated milestone and the results of the formula then return False. For example, you could define a rule that halts an SFD application at its Pre-Processed state if the application is the thirtieth such one associated with a parent Subdivision application.
