Constraint items

This table describes the type of information associated with each constraint item available.

Constraint item Description
Additional Applicants Information about any additional applicants associated with a license.

For a license type constraint, you have three options. If you select Default Available or Required, you can record additional applicant information when starting a license, but it isn't required. (Required is equivalent to Default Available, because additional applicants can't be required to start a license.) If you select Display Only, the additional applicant fields are displayed on the Start License page but have no effect.

For a milestone constraint, you have four options. If you select Default Available, you can record additional applicant information in the InfoViewer. If you select Required, an additional applicant will meet the constraint requirement for the milestone. If you select Display Only, the Change Applicants option is not available from the InfoViewer's Action button. If you select Not Present, no additional applicant information is displayed in the InfoViewer.

Associated Sites Information about addresses, assets, parcels, or properties that are related to the license in some way. This constraint defines the behavior of the Associated Sites grid in license applications.
Business Name The name of the business associated with the license application. This constraint defines the behavior of the Business Name field in license applications.
Comments Any additional information about the license. This constraint defines the behavior of the Comments field for licenses.
DBA (doing business as) Name The name of the business the license is for. This constraint defines the behavior of the DBA Name field for licenses.
Endorsements Records associated with a parent license that grants a licensee the right to sell a product or provide a service that is not covered by the parent license. This constraint defines the behavior of the Endorsement Type field in the Start License process, and the Endorsements tab.
License Category A record associated with a parent license that grants a licensee the right to sell a product or provide a service that is not covered by the parent license. This constraint defines the behavior of the License Category field in the Start License process.
Primary Applicant Information about the primary applicant associated with an application.

For an application type constraint, the only option is Default Required, meaning that a primary applicant is required to start a new license.

For a milestone constraint, you have four options. If you select Default Available, you can edit primary applicant information in the InfoViewer. If you select Required, a primary applicant is required for the selected milestone. If you select Display Only, the Change Applicants option is not available from the InfoViewer's Action button. If you select Not Present, no primary applicant information is displayed in the InfoViewer.

Primary Site An address, parcel, property, or asset that a license is created for. This constraint defines the behavior of the Primary Site fields in licenses. Note that assets can only be used as sites if the Enable Asset Sites check box is selected in License System Setup.
Priority The priority level of the license. This constraint defines the behavior of the Priority field in licenses.
Type of Business Information about what type of business the license application is for. This constrain defines the behavior of the Type of Business field in the License InfoViewer.
