Defining a license type
License types are the kinds of licenses that your agency handles. Defining a license type is the first step in setting up the licensing process for that license type.
- Select License > Setup > License Workflow.
-
In the License Types tree, browse to the node in which you want to define a license type.
This can be the License Types root node or a "License Category" node.
- Right-click the node and select Create License Type.
- Type a name for the new license type in the License Type field.
- Type a description of the license type in the Description field.
-
If your agency uses Infor Rhythm for Civics, specify settings for the license type in the
Rhythm for Civics site.
Rhythm for Civics is a cloud-based web portal for Infor Public Sector. You can specify these settings:
- Select the Show in Portal check box if you want licenses of this type to be shown in Rhythm for Civics.
- Select the Is Public check box to show licenses of this type to members of the public.
- The Allow Submission check box indicates whether applications for licenses of this type can be submitted through the portal.
- In the Portal Description field you can specify an alternative description of the license type to be displayed in Rhythm for Civics.
- Use the Portal Instructions field to provide instructions for submitting applications for licenses of this type. The instructions will be displayed for users in the portal site.
See the Infor Rhythm for Civics Administration Guide for more information.
-
If your agency uses Dynamic Portal, select an option from the Display Dynamic Portal User list.
This option indicates which type of users can select this license type when initiating licenses in Dynamic Portal.
-
Enter any other information about the license type.
You can enter a formula to calculate an expiration date in the Expiration Date Formula field, and you can define a grace period by specifying a number of days in the Grace Period Days field. To calculate the grace period expiration date, Infor Public Sector will add this number of days to a license's expiration date. You can also enter a formula to calculate the next renewal date in the Next Renewal Date Formula field. You can define any standard operating procedures for this license type. If you select the Allow Supervisor Override check box, supervisors with the correct permissions in Access Control can advance license applications to the next milestone even if they haven't met all the status checks for the current one. You can enter a description that will be shown to Dynamic Portal users in the Dynamic Portal Description field.
- Click Save.
-
Define the necessary supporting information for the license type, such as inspections, conditions, and milestones.
You can define milestones for the license type, and define the condition types, define the inspection types, define periodic inspection schedules, define the review types, and add the fee types that the license type will use. If you want to associate this information with a specific milestone, you can define this information under the milestone node instead. You will also want to associate violation groups with inspection types and associate violation groups with review types.
- When you're finished defining license types, click Close and set up access control for each type.
