Thinning the configuration

If you have multiple devices configured and are getting errors, you may want to hook up just one device at a time to see which ones are causing issues.

  1. Close all active browsers on the desktop.
  2. Make a backup copy of the configuration file (InforDevicesConfig.xml).
  3. Remove all current configurations from the active configuration file by removing all DEVICE nodes.
  4. Log in to Infor Public Sector. In Cashiering Setup, select the correct cash register setup and click the Configure Register Hardware link. If that works correctly, then click the Update Register Information link. (This link will not be available if the device control failed to load).
  5. If step 4 works with no devices configured, perform these steps.
    1. Close all browsers.
    2. Open the backup of InforDevicesConfig.xml that you made in step 2.
    3. Copy one device at a time from the backup to the active configuration file, and repeat step 4 for each device. In this way you can test one device at a time until a failure occurs.
