Test utility
A complete installation of Cherry OPOS support includes a test utility that you can use to test the MSR device. To open this utility, click the Windows Start button, then select
.First select the proper device from the Device Name list. It should be labeled ChyMSR.
With the OPOS device selected, click the
button. This will place the cherry keyboard in a ready state to accept data from a card slide.Upon sliding a test card, the track data should be detected and displayed to the screen. This will mean that the MSR device is operating properly and ready for Infor Public Sector to interface to.
Note: There is a bug in the Cherry
OPOS objects that causes an unhandled "Access Violation" when using the Infor Device
functionality with Internet Explorer 7 or later. Infor has opened a Microsoft case to
obtain a workaround. Here are the workaround steps:
- Open the Windows Registry Editor.
- Either search for OPOS.CHERRY or navigate to My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3D67D421-B06B-423E-8376-2331884F7F01}.
- Select the InProcServer32 sub key of the main component node in the registry tree.
- Notice that there is no ThreadingModel value set yet. Right-click the InProcServer32 key node and add a new string value. Set the name to "ThreadingModel" and the value to "Apartment."
