Cherry keyboards

Note: If you're using a Cherry keyboard along with Epson devices, the Epson devices must be installed first.

To install the Cherry keyboard MSR service objects, run Cherry_OPOS_for_SPOS.exe in the Support\Manufacturer Service Objects\Cherry SPOS Keyboard directory. On the fourth screen of the installer, after you accept the license agreement and specify the installation folder, select the Complete option. This will install all components, including documentation and test utilities.

The Cherry service objects are installed in the C:\Program Files\Cherry directory. The HookOPOS folder in the Cherry directory includes a help file, oposhlp.chm, with more detailed documentation from Cherry.

Next, run Cherry_Tools_58_EN.msi in the Support\Manufacturer Service Objects\Cherry SPOS Keyboard directory.

Note: You may receive an error 1935 when running Cherry_Tools_58_EN.msi.

See Error 1935 while installing Cherry keyboard.

When the installation is complete, open the Cherry Designer from the Start menu and edit the configuration for your keyboard model. Select Magnetic Card, and under Specific options select the Enable OPOS/JavaPOS settings check box.

Unlike the Epson devices, the Cherry MSR doesn't include a separate utility for managing the service object. Instead, you'll use the Service Object Manager. Most importantly, the Service Object Manager is used to assign a logical name to the MSR device, which you'll need when you add the device in the Infor Device Configuration Utility.
