Configuring line displays
The line display can be added as a child of the POS printer, or as a separate device.
- To add an Epson compatible line display, navigate to the corresponding port in the Port tree (if it is a separate device), or to the parent POS printer. Right-click the tree node and select Add New Device.
- Select LineDisplay from the Device Class list.
-
On the next form, select the line display model from the
Select Device Name list. Pay close
attention to the
Select detailed model list, as it usually
contains information about the port type the device uses.
After selecting the device model you can enter a logical device name, which Infor Public Sector uses to locate the device. In the Add New LDN field, enter DISPLAY, which is the logical name that Infor Public Sector uses.
- Next, configure the communication settings. The Epson line display usually must be configured (through device pin configuration) to have a serial baud rate of 19200 when using a COM port, or when directly connected to an Epson printer. Refer to the specific device manual for support with the communication settings. After settings are entered, click the CheckHealth Interactive button to test the device configuration.
- After the Check Health form is displayed, click Start. A series of characters, generally describing the device model, is displayed on the line display if it is configured properly.
-
Click
Finish.
When you click Finish, you may see a registry warning saying that there are potentially conflicting devices on the same port. Epson's hydra drivers can handle the child devices, so click OK. The line display is now configured and should show up in the device tree.
