Cash registers

To use a computer as a cash register in Infor Public Sector Cashiering, you must first define a cash register in the database and then associate it with the computer.

Infor Public Sector organizes your agency's cash registers into register groups. Each register group defines default settings for the cash registers in that group, such as the payment types that can be accepted and the merchant account to use for credit transactions. Register groups make it easier for cashiering supervisors to monitor their cash registers and cashiers, and they also serve as the basis for access control. An access group is added for each register group, and users must be granted the appropriate permissions before they can access cashiering functionality.

After you have defined a register group, you can define individual cash registers within that group. Infor Public Sector automatically applies the default settings for the register group to each new cash register, but you can override the defaults.

Each cash register must be associated with the specific computer that will be used to run that cash register. A cash register may also be associated with additional hardware that is connected to the computer, such as a payment terminal or a receipt printer.
