Utility Billing
Each service on a utility account is based on a service definition record that outlines its general characteristics. You can define different versions of a service to calculate the same charge differently depending on factors such as the account class or area.
If a service is consumption-based, you can also indicate what kind of asset is used to meter the consumption, such as a water meter for a water service. You can then associate water meters with accounts, and bill customers based on the meter readings.
Service-based line items are associated with a service, and are billed for all accounts that have that service. For service-based rate tables, you can define a series of stepped rates so that the rate charged for a service varies depending on the usage; or you can charge all accounts the same flat rate.
