Adjusting a line item
- Select Billing > Transactions > Adjust Line Item.
- In the Account # field, specify the account the line item you're adjusting is charged to.
-
In the Bill
# and Line
Item fields, specify the bill and line item you're adjusting.
Note: You can use the popup button to the right of either the Bill # field or the Line Item field to open the Bill#/Line Item popup. You can select both the bill number and the line item simultaneously.
- Select either Principal or Penalty from the Transaction Designator list.
- Specify your employee ID in the Adjusted By field.
- Specify the date of the adjustment in the Date field.
-
In the Adjustment Type field, specify the type of adjustment you're
making.
You can select any adjustment type that is available for the bill type of the bill that contains the line item. Adjustment types are defined as line items using Line Item Setup and assigned to bill types using Bill Type Setup. The adjustment type you select determines whether the adjustment is a credit or debit and the approval levels that are required for different adjustment amounts.
-
In the Amount field, specify the amount of the adjustment.
Because the adjustment type you specify in the Adjustment Type field indicates whether the adjustment is a credit or debit, you only need to specify the amount by which the line item is being adjusted. Infor Public Sector will subtract the amount of a credit adjustment from the line item, and add the amount of a debit adjustment.
-
Click Save.
Infor Public Sector shows a dialog box indicating the amount of the adjustment and whether the adjustment is a credit or debit, and asks you if you want to continue.
-
Click Yes.
If you have the necessary access rights to make adjustments in the amount specified, Infor Public Sector adjusts the line item and shows a dialog box indicating that the transaction is completed. If the adjustment amount requires co-signing or approval, Infor Public Sector adds the transaction with a Pending status and shows a dialog box indicating the approval level that is required to complete the transaction.
