Creating a solid waste service
A solid waste service is used to bill customers for garbage collection. To create a solid waste service, select Waste Container from the Asset list.
When you select Waste Container, Infor Public Sector shows the grid at the bottom of the page. Because billing for solid waste services is typically based on the number and type of waste containers, you can use garbage fields to record this information.
To add a garbage field, click
above the grid. A garbage field is essentially a special type of quantity field that is used to record information about waste containers.See Creating a quantity field.
In addition to the information you can record for a standard quantity field, you can record this information for a garbage field:
- In the Contents field, enter the type of material the container is used for, such as garbage or green waste.
- In the Number of Pickups field, enter the number of times trash is collected each week.
- In the Increment Service Request field, enter the type of service request Infor Public Sector will create if additional containers must be delivered to the customer. The service request is created after the customer orders cans during the move in process.
- In the Decrement Service Request field, enter the type of service request Infor Public Sector will create if containers must be removed.
- In the Swap Service Request field, enter the type of service request Infor Public Sector will create if containers must be swapped, such as replacing a 60 gallon can with a 90 gallon can.
- In the Pickup Day Text field, enter the text that is displayed in the move in script to tell the customer when garbage is collected. You can enter [DAY] as a variable, and Infor Public Sector will replace it in the script with the pickup day of the solid waste route the customer's address belongs to.
Just as you can add one or more quantity items to a quantity field, you can add one or more garbage items to a garbage field. In most cases a garbage field represents a type of container and its items represent different sizes. For each garbage item, in addition to the information that you can record for a quantity item, you can also record this information:
- In the Capacity field, enter the capacity of the container. You can select the unit of measure from the list to the right.
- In the Increment Text field, you can enter instructions that will be displayed in the comments for a service request created to deliver additional cans. You can enter [COUNT] as a variable, and Infor Public Sector will replace it with the number of cans the customer has ordered.
- In the Decrement Text field, you can enter instructions that will be displayed in the comments for a service request created to remove cans.
